My babies tend to be a bit under 10 lbs, if that helps. So it'd be hard to give that up unless others offer it, too. My main love of the Chaperone is the foam in baby's headwings that almost hug the head (and my old Companion seat was even better). (Eventually he/she is going into the Orbit toddler but we won't have the stroller for that). I think Graco is on board now with that? And Britax should be by the end of the year. The reality is that this baby will spend a lot of time in the carseat as I get the other kids where they need to go daily, so it's tempting to want something without the known harmful flame retardants as I already went through the trouble minimizing those in the crib environment. And the longer baby is in infant seat, all the better to click him/her into a stroller through winter. Simple as possible! I wasn't sure if there is anything out there I'm missing. Is the Aton REALLY lighter to carry once you stick a growing baby in it?ĭoes the foam (and air by head) on the Prezi impress anyone?Īt this point us going anywhere is total chaos, my back is not good, and I want something easy on me. It's going outboard captain's chair Honda Odyssey 2011, driver side. We have a Britax Chaperone from 2009 (bought in 2011 and used with one baby). You might be surprised how much difference a tight install, and pushing IN to the seat while installing, can make. So I'd advise you go to a store that lets you try it, and try installing it tightly in each vehicle seating position, and measuring. When we just sat it on, before we installed it tightly, it was only 76% on the vehicle seat (and less in the outboard seats, because of the shape of the vehicle seat and the way it sat- it sat better in the center.) But during the installation process we made sure to push back into the seat as well as down, and with that combined with the tightening-down of the belt during the install, we were able to get it a tidge more than 80% on the seat. I just wanted to say that I helped a dad put a Chaperone base in the center of his Accord (2009 I think.) It was 80.5% on the vehicle seat when we finished (I measured, and that was including the widest parts of the seat, when we put the seat in the base to check the angle and all.) ![]()
